The tower that sat on the hill overlooking the kingdom wasn’t to be gone near.
Everyone knew that.
There were rumors that those who went into it — or even near it — they wouldn’t return, they’d suddenly go crazy, or something worse would happen. So nobody went near it.
But there was always the curious thought in the air about what could possibly be in the tower. There was always that collective thought throughout the kingdom that something, or well someone, could be trapped in that tower. Nobody, however, did anything.
Until Dean.
He had always been curious about the tower since he was a kid, always looking out at it. He dreamed of being the first person to brave the trials that people thought surrounded the tower and finding out what was in there.
And then, when he grew up, he did.
People warned him not to, but he didn’t listen. He trained for it, planned out his strategy for months and then, when he was finally ready, he packed and went off.
It took him a few days, and well, he struggled a little bit — what with them living in a kingdom you’d find in a storybook and all — but when he finally made it to the clearing where he could see the tower, he quickly made his way over to it.
He went inside and climbed the steps of the tower, dreading what he was gonna see on the inside, he pushed the door that sat at the top of the steps open and inside was…..
A girl.
Just…..a girl. Sitting on the bed by the window of the tower, looking out the window.
