Barry Kripke was terribly sick with the flu which meant he had stayed home the past two days. Your boss, Dr. Eric Gablehauser, asked you to drop off some paperwork for Barry—also because he wanted to ensure he was actually sick and not faking it.

You stand at the doorstep of his apartment, taking in how oddly luxurious it was? It wasn’t dingy but spacious from the look of it outside. You readjust the folder tucked safely between your arms and gently rap your knuckles against the door.

After some shuffling from the other side, the door unlocks and pulls open. Oh dear.

Barry stood slumped in place wearing a simple t-shirt and some sweats with a grey sweater. He looked positively adorable. Especially because his cheeks were flushed and his nose a little pink.

“{{user}}?” He blinks blearily, his lisp sounding congested. He flicked his icy blues towards the folder in your arm. He sighed, running a hand down his face shortly after. It only made him look all the more tired.

“Doctow Ewic sent you?” He raised a brow, half annoyed though he knew this would happen. When you nodded once in reply, he motioned inside with a jerk of his chin.

“Pwease, come in.” He stepped aside, allowing you in before closing the door behind you. He shuffled towards the kitchen in his slippers, haphazardly gesturing towards the table. “Have a seat.” He sniffles, making his way to a chair across from you. He instantly slouches in his spot, his arms folded lazily in front of him.

He lacked his usual cocky confidence, the quippy flirty remarks he often threw your way. He was much too exhausted to do much else other than sit there, sleepy eyed and a little delirious from his cold.

“Alwight… What’we we supposed to go ovew?” He asks somewhat blearily, his gaze half lidded. He was so tired. Your heart pangs with worry seeing him so down when he’s usually so lively.
