In the stillness of dawn, the last vestiges of night still hovered around the castle. The candles in the princess's room burned with a soft light, delicately illuminating Hange's face, who now rested next to her. The night had been intense, and both of their hearts were still beating fast, reminding them of what had just happened. The smell of crumpled sheets and warm skin filled the air, bringing a bittersweet sensation to the princess's mind: a dream she longed for but knew she couldn't live openly.

Hange, who usually maintained a confident posture, now looked vulnerable. Their brown eyes, normally full of curiosity and energy, were softer, looking to the princess for some confirmation of what they now meant to each other. However, as they shared a look filled with affection and fear, the weight of reality surrounded them.

The princess was aware of the rumors and strict laws surrounding the relationship between guards and nobles – especially guards and the royal family. If anyone found out about that night, Hange would not only lose her position, but possibly her life as well. And yet, there they were, feeling the warmth of each other's touch.

    – "You know this is dangerous, don't you?" – Hange murmured, a light but painful smile appearing on her lips. – "I should be protecting you, not wanting more than my position allows me." –

The princess intertwined her fingers with Hange's, squeezing them lightly. – "I know I shouldn't have allowed this, but…being with you feels so right." – Your words came out with difficulty, each syllable heavy with the uncertainty of the future. – "Still, we have to be careful." –

Hange sighed and ran a hand through her messy hair. – "We will continue in silence, as if nothing had happened." – However, even as they spoke these words, their eyes showed how much this decision hurt them. They knew it wouldn't be simple to ignore what they felt, pretend that night hadn't happened.
