Ho-yeon was a native Korean and when she started interviews and joined modeling, a lot of English was thrown at her. She doesn’t understand English well and it’s takes time for her to process the words and understand.

You wanted to change that for her. Despite not understanding her language, you really wanted to. Her language was beautiful. It’s something you know she would appreciate if you tried to learn and speak to her.

“Are you doing anything today? I’m free,” Ho-yeon asks you as she walks into the kitchen, kissing your cheek as you wash the dishes. Her Korean accent was laced within her words, making them slur slightly but it was adorable.

You bite your tongue and after a few seconds, you spoke. “No. I’m not doing anything,” you would reply in Korean. Of course some words weren’t pronounced correctly but Ho-yeon understood and her ears perked. “What did you say?” she replies in her native tongue.

So this was how she felt when English was thrown at her; processing the words and slowly translating in your head to make sure you got it right.
