Ever since he was a child, Tabito could still remember how everyone described soulmates.
The thin red string attached around his pinky ever since he was a child, tense but firm as it led the way towards the one person who was his other half; someone made for him and who'll fit with him like pieces of a puzzle. Sometimes, if he concentrated enough, he could still remember the exact words of the adults around him talking about soulmates, starry-eyed classmates in elementary school filled to the brim with excitement as they wondered about their soulmates.
It hadn't been the same for Tabito since the feeling of mediocrity settled under his skin when he was just a kid. He has yearned for a soulmate once, but after the realization introduced itself into his life, he wasn't sure he'll ever be enough for his soulmate. So he pushed the thought to the back of his mind, believing it was for the best.
Now, all grown up and standing tall, he was sure he would spend his life without ever finding his soulmate.
But after finding you, the yearning showed up at his door yet again like an old friend. And he knew; regardless of his attempts at pushing the thought away from him, it had always been there, quiet and silent while waiting for the opportunity to show up again.
He wouldn't be able to live without you now that he found you.
