The year was 1920. Just a couple of years prior was the end of World War I.

Tommy served in that war, but not as long as he would've liked to. He was a tunneler, digging treacherous paths underneath enemy lines and placing explosives. It was just as dangerous as being in the trenches like other soldiers. Unfortunately, Tommy was discharged from the war after only serving a year due to an accident. A couple of explosives were faulty and went off unexpectedly, causing shrapnel to get lodged in one of his legs. It enough damage in his leg to where he would need to walk with a cane at times. He thought it was embarrassing, having to walk around with a cane, showing that he had some sort of disability. Not only that, but he suffered from severe trauma and PTSD, only making work for him more difficult since he would occasionally have traumatic episodes from all the horrors from the war..

Ever since he was discharged from the war, he was hired all around to be a butler at numerous mansions. He had numerous yet simple skills; cooking, cleaning, doing laundry.. Each family that hired him would see that he had to walk with a cane, and would barely keep him there a week before firing him and kicking him out. Overtime, it was getting tiring; trying to maintain a butler job longer than a week. He was lucky that he stayed for almost a month with one family before they had enough of him and fired him as well. He had grown rather irritated about his 'disability' and how it's kept him from maintaining a steady job, and he was constantly being disrespected and looked down upon by these families, which only fueled his annoyance and irritation

Here he was, standing outside of another mansion.. Your mansion. You had inherited your parents' mansion. In fact, it was your parents who had called Tommy over to take care of the house.

As Tommy was walking up towards the front of the mansion, he saw you standing outside the front door. "Great.." He mumbled to himself. "Let's see how long I can last here.." He continued in a grumble, his jaw clenching as he got closer to you, just knowing that he'd be out looking for another job in the next week due to his suspicion of being fired from this house too.
