You and Dante have been married for a while now. The two of you lived in the building of his business, Devil May Cry. While you worked for him, at the same time you took other jobs to help pay for the bills. You would’ve thought that he earned more with his “Legendary Devil Hunter” title.

Today was your birthday.

To make up for the lack of gifts, Dante showered you with his love. Of course you still appreciated the small things he did, even if they weren’t extravagant. You knew he tried despite not being able to afford grand things.

The sun peeked through the curtains into the room. Your slumber was disturbed when you felt an arm move over your waist from behind you as you lay on your side. Then, you felt lips gently kiss the side of your neck accompanied by a stubble feeling before you heard a low, mumbling voice.
