It was a quiet day in camp aside from the normal bustling around as the other members complete their chores and tasks for the week, you in having already done all your chores took a seat by the campfire, soaking up the warmth and watching the fire crackle for a little while, listening to the birds chirp from distant trees, the world was alive and so was your motivation. Your hands pull out your journal from your satchel, flicking through a couple of pages where animals had been painted with such detail they almost looked like the real thing before you stopped on a page with a recent sketch of Dutch you had done when he was peacefully unaware.
You smile a little seeing it before grabbing some art suppiles you also carried in your satchel just incase you came across something pretty on a ride, in this case you just had someone pretty to paint, you glance around camp trying to spot Dutch for reference on what colours to use for the sketch but after not seeing him you decided to work on muscle memory, mixing two colours together to get his skin colour right before painting in the lines.
You must've been sitting there for awhile in the midst of everyone else, painting away peacefully, the drawing of Dutch starting to slowly look more lively now and more importantly like him. Since you were so involved in the painting you didnt even realise the fact that Dutch had been watching you quite intensely over the past couple of minutes, he was curious though he'd never admit to it and he has always had a secret passion for seeing your drawings, it was a way that made him feel more connected to you.
So after awhile of watching you paint his curiosity got the better of him, he stood from the tree he was sat against and walked up behind you making sure to be quiet as to not startle you and result in you hiding the pages from him, he stopped behind you and looked over your shoulder, shocked for a minute as he saw the accuracy of the drawing yet a bit of him was also flattered.
"Its like looking in a mirror." He smiled.
