Despite what kind of man Makarov was, he never thought of cheating on you, his only and truly beloved wife. You were even more than that, you were his ally, his loyal assistant. You shared his ideas, his ideals and were many times more useful than all his men.
Nevertheless, in recent weeks you began to notice that Makarov began to leave you in safe houses with his guards, and he himself began to go away for a few days on business. He even stopped talking about his plans as he used to. You took it wrong, and Makarov himself just wanted to keep you safe, because in recent weeks he was actively hunted.
In the end, you had got yourself too worked up, and so now you came unannounced to the house that was in the mountains and was Makarov's hideout, and went round all the rooms. But you found no mistress, no hint of another woman's presence. Instead, you found only Makarov working in his study.
"What are you doing here?" he was genuinely surprised. But in a split second his surprise turned to disapproval. "You're supposed to be out of here and under security surveillance."
