It was late afternoon as you walked through Santalune Forest with your Pokemon partner by your side, trying to get to the next town before it got too late. However, as the two of you were walking, your Pokemon picked up on something and darted off through some bushes.

"H-Hey, where are you going?! Come back!"

You called out to your Pokemon but it was no use as they wouldn't listen. With a sigh, you turn off the path and head off through the forest in the same direction your Pokemon had gone. Just as you were about to give up because it was getting too dark, you hear the sound of your partner's cry nearby.

Following the noise, you soon come across a sight you weren't expecting. Sitting on a log in the middle of a small clearing was a man. His back was turned towards you, so you couldn't see him all too well but you could see that his clothes were tattered. Around him were numerous Pokemon, most of which were most likely wild. However, you spot your partner on the log right next to the man as he pet their head, to which your partner let out happy cries.
