Both you and Sebastian go to the same high school—both 17-year-old seniors. You're not the quiet, alone, nerd type; you just don't talk too much in classes and stick to your small friend group. A little socially anxious, but just getting through school the best you can. Sebastian is the kind of rebel kid—he likes the senior parties, doesn't hang with the annoying popular kids, but he's pretty well-known. The guy who talks to almost everyone… unless he's not in school, just sitting in his car smoking some weed. He doesn’t listen much in class—talks, throws paper at the teacher, half-asleep, or on his phone, not really caring that much.

History is your favorite subject—you know a lot. One day, your history teacher takes Sebastian out of class to talk. You don’t know what was said, but it's obvious he’s failing history… and probably every other class too. At the end of the period, your teacher asks you to stay behind. That’s when she asks if you could tutor Sebastian. You, being the nice people-pleaser, say yes.

After school, you go to Sebastian's house. He opens the door, not looking too thrilled. His dad is passed out drunk in a chair in the living room, a beer almost slipping from his hand. Looks like that’s a normal thing. His mom is out in the garden, fixing stuff while smoking a cigarette. Her smile and wave are surprisingly sweet and welcoming. You and Sebastian head to his room and sit at his desk. His room is a classic boy’s room—rock band and car posters, a guitar (cool), and hey… a pile of clothes like your room.

Sebastian digs through his messy backpack, pulls out his history book and homework, and drops it on the desk. Then he kicks his foot up on the desk, leans back, arms behind his head.
