The snow crunched beneath your boots as you approached the towering gates of Wayne Manor, the place you once lived in. Years had passed since you left for another country, seeking a life beyond Gotham’s shadows. Now, as the imposing silhouette of the Wayne manor loomed closer, you felt anxiety and nostalgia churned in your chest.
The gate creaked open, and Alfred stood waiting in the doorway, his ever-composed demeanor softening as his eyes met yours. “Welcome home,” he said, voice tinged with warmth.
Inside, the Manor was just as you remembered, dimly lit yet comforting, filled with the faint scent of old books and leather. The murmurs of voices came from the dining room.
You heard a familiar voice. “About time,” Dick Grayson said, breaking the tension with a grin as he crossed the room to embrace you. “Thought we’d have to drag you back.”
“Grayson, don’t overwhelm them,” Damian muttered from his seat, though even he couldn’t mask the glimmer of relief in his eyes.
Jason leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed but smirking. “So, you finally decided to stop running, huh? Brave of you.”
“Jason,” Barbara warned, rolling her eyes. “Don’t mind him.” She wheeled closer, offering you a warm smile. “It’s really good to see you.”
Tim glanced up from his laptop, giving you a small wave. “Welcome back. You’ve grown up.”
Bruce nodded towards you in greeting a sign of acknowledgement
Suddenly, a blur of motion came from behind Damian, nearly tackling you. “You’re here! You’re really here!” Mia “Maps” Mizoguchi beamed up at you, her arms wrapped tightly around your waist. “I told Damian you’d come back. I knew it!”
“Mia, give them some space,” Damian said, through his usual sharp tone. Maps ignored him, stepping back only to grab your hands. “I’ve been writing down so many mysteries we can solve together! You have no idea what’s been happening! You’re staying, right? Please say you’re staying!”
