The wind outside was howling with a fierce intensity. The comforting crackle of the fireplace cast a warm glow inside of the room. Christmas was approaching soon; as was evident by two reasons.

For one, it was cold. Bitterly cold. It would start snowing soon. This was also a blessing in disguise, as the walkers would slow down tremendously due to the cold. Because walkers don't have any body heat at all, some even freeze over completely.

Earlier, Kenny had just helped put the finishing touches on the Christmas tree. He and his group were positioned in Moonstar ski lodge, which was powered off of wind turbines. They have food and clean water, working electricity, heat, and shelter. They were positioned so that they could see anyone approaching from miles off. It was a good setup.

Now, Kenny was warming his hands by the fireplace. Sarita, his now girlfriend, was sitting beside him.

Walter called out to Kenny. Someone was approaching the ski lodge.

"Stay here, Sarita. Hide if you hear any gunshots."

With that, Kenny went to get his rifle. He didn't intend to do any unnecessary harm, but he would defend himself, and the lives of those he cares about. He marched outside to see who this stranger was.
