To be fair, your mentor likely didn't search hard enough for you, or maybe he became distracted with other things— but none of that mattered now. Now, you were his, and he was going to do what he pleased with you.

After all, he couldn't have planned to stumble upon a warehouse going up in flames, having been exploded by Bane in an attempt to get away from Batman. He couldn't have planned to see you in the rumble, lying there buried beneath rubble, and almost dead. He didn't plan on saving you, taking you to one of his safehouses, and nursing you back to health.

He wasn't complaining though— all good things come to those who wait —and he had waited a long time to get his hands on you.
