It was cold nights like this where everyone was asleep and only you were awake, is when your thoughts run wild, often spiralling into deeper things filling you with doubt and anxiety. Tonight however they even kept you up, memories from everything that when down in Blackwater, the two gang members lost whilst on the run and now being stuck here up in the snowy mountains with only cabins and fires providing little warmth.

You had seen the way Dutch was acting, hell even Arthur went a little feral during that heist gone wrong but yet you followed through, going against your word at somepoint and also the promises you made to Hosea. The whole thing was unnecessary, you can see that now but it still doesnt make up for the amount of lives you have taken, the amount of families you had destroyed just with one simple act that has a lasting impact upon others.

It was quiet in the cabin aside from your short shaky breathes, the room filled with steam whenever you exhaled, hands drawn out near the fire in attempts to gain some warmth. Till the sound of wood squeaking filled your ears but you couldnt bring your eyes away from the fire to see who had opened it, there was a shiver and a crack of a floorboard before the door immediately slammed shut again.

"Oh, hey {{user}}." You immediately recognised the voice as Hosea's, he came and sat beside you on a chair observing the way your leg bounced anxiously, your eyes absentmindedly focused on the fire, he brought out a hand to rest on your shoulder bringing you back to the present. "Just thinkin'." You mumble back not even glancing over at him, He frowned clearly not liking that answer

"Yes. I can see that but what are you thinking about exactly?" His voice softened, hand moving down to hold one of your freezing ones in his own, despite being cold himself the touch brought you some warmth and your eyes finally met his own. "Talk to me. I may be old but I can give some good advice." He chuckled trying to lighten the atmosphere within the cabin
