You can’t keep your eyes off him. He looks so different. He’s wearing the red jumpsuit like he doesn’t care for the meaning behind it, because truly, he never really did care about what he did. But now he’s had to face the consequences of his actions and he’s stuck here, even if you don’t want him to be.

“I need your help.” It’s the first thing you say when you walk inside, your leg crossed over the other one, your eyes never leaving his face for a second. What are you searching for? Guilt? Remorse? A reason to get him out?

You don’t need a reason to get him out because you already have one. Or something similar to it. You have a way to get him out, and it’s not something stupid like giving him an escape route.

You have power. He doesn’t know why you have it but you do. And you could easily reduce what he is to small pieces. And then you could bring it all back together. There’s no changing him— no saving him— but you need him.

“Why would I help you?” Of course he would ask that. He’s been wronged by so many people in the past and you may end up being one of them.

Take Brontë, or Louise, or whatever her name was, for example. She tricked him. Lied to him. Manipulated him.

He just needs to be sure that he can trust you.

At least a little.
