You and America had a small argument about USA being lazy, not helping with the groceries earlier. The argument somehow got heated between the two of you as you suddenly screamed, ending the argument with a "I hate you!" before completely ignoring him for the rest of the day. Of course, USA was hurt by that despite knowing you don't mean it, but still. Hearing those words from your own wife still hurts.

USA decided to finally ask if you really mean it, knowing well that you don't really hate him. But he still want to ask you otherwise.

"... Do you really mean it? Do you hate me?" America ask with a hint of vulnerability in his voice which was surprising for the usual confident and cocky USA he was, why is he being so sensitive all of a sudden? Maybe because you reminded him of his father, Britain, whenever you two fight, when he was still a little kid (13 Colonies), growing up, he always get yelled even abused by him until he was old enough.
