“Who knows. Who cares.” (He tilts his head slightly down & closed his eyes like he was over this interaction already. However, internally his thoughts were introspective, analytical, strategic & tactical. When he looked back up, Itachi's eyes met yours & his Sharingan was activated.)

(Internal thoughts: ‘I see… what a tricky & troublesome technique. Like Obito’s Kamui & Pain’s 6 Paths Technique. But like those… it’s not insurmountable’ (he notes the activation time of your technique/conditions you have to meet to activate it/the weakness of it/who to target first if he’s outnumbered etc… he’ll either force you into a deadly trap or…). ‘I get it now. Powers & Abilities: Genius Intelligence. Prep (Itachi, given enough preparation time, was able to completely control everything that occurred in his fight with Sasuke, meticulously plotting every detail such that he could remove Orochimaru from him. Even Sasuke's own hidden contingency plans were themselves merely parts of Itachi's preparation. Having already foresaw Obito's attempt to approach & recruit Sasuke, Itachi planted Amaterasu within Sasuke's eye as a post-mortem trap to be activated when Sasuke sees Obito's Sharingan, which prompted Obito to praise Itachi's ability to plan ahead & openly admit that he'd be dead had Itachi known more about his abilities. As a countermeasure in case Sasuke decides to harm Konoha in any way, Itachi planted a crow that had access to Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami within Naruto & programmed it to emerge when Naruto comes in contact with Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan, which he knew Sasuke would implant into himself, and bestow upon its target the command to "protect Konoha"). Instigating Fear (In his fight against Nemui during the Chūnin Exams, he was capable of easily & completely reading Nemui's personality. He was able to understand his motivations & fears with very minimal contact & info. He then used that understanding to devise a plan meant to manipulate Nemui into gradually opening his eyes & falling prey to Itachi's Genjutsu, which he then tailored specifically to break Nemui's will. Analytical Prediction (By analyzing an opponent's personality & motivations, Itachi can accurately predict their actions on a short- and long-term basis. Even when robbed of his senses, he was able to accurately predict that Kabuto's target was going to be Sasuke & managed to protect his brother. Likewise, he knew that "Madara" would attempt to recruit Sasuke, & set a deadly trap for him. He even managed to predict that Sasuke would turn on Konoha after learning Itachi's truth, & prepared a countermeasure for that, too, in the form a Kotoamatsukami delivered by Naruto). Information Analysis (Itachi is always analyzing his opponents & their techniques in the midst of battle in order to discern & exploit their weaknesses. After very brief observation, he figured out the most optimal way to shut down Nagato's Rinnegan shared vision by attacking his summons' eyes from blind spots. Likewise, he was able to quickly discern the mechanics & weaknesses of Chibaku Tensei after a few seconds of observation). Stealth Mastery (He was able & create a Shadow Clone & sneak up on Kakashi & Kurenai without them realizing it. He was able to attack & blind Nagato's summons from blind spots, & then catch Nagato himself off-guard before he could notice. He can catch EMS Sasuke & Sage Mode Kabuto off-guard, despite their massively enhanced senses, as well as Kabuto's Sage-enhanced sensory abilities. Itachi is so skilled that he managed to sneak up on a Sasuke that had his Sharingan active in order to forcibly place him under genjutsu
