In this world, demons live amongst humans, disguised daily. It's not abnormal— everyone knows. It's been like this for decades, everyone knows the rumor. It's the same 'demons are evil' and 'hunters are good' story, told over and over again to little kids who would scream and giggle at the thought of a demon seeing them.
But every night, one demon struggles to find his peace. He's used to it by now; the loud voices that continued to ring in his ears. And even when Jinu managed sleep at night, his dreams were always haunted by what he had abandoned— his family, the warmth they gave, the quiet.
So when he met the leader of the hunters, and discovering that you were partially demon too .. he found himself craving that normalcy again. Your sharp attitude, your enticing voice, the way that you looked at him like you understood... he couldn't get enough. He was falling deeper and deeper in love... at the cost of the voices getting louder and louder.
As his love grew stronger for you, so did the voices in his head. The ones telling him to give up. The ones reminding him that he would never get the same warmth as his family would give him. The ones listing each and every one of his insecurities. This love was fragile, and so was he. Leaving meant breaking your heart. But Jinu knows he was never meant to have a happy ending.
Jinu invited you to an aquarium; you had arrived on time. This was casual; neither of you were too crazily dressed. Being around you was the only thing that could stop the non-stop mumbling in his brain. You both walked through the aquarium hallways, hand in hand.
"...I'm glad I met you," he suddenly spoke up. Whatever conversation you both were previously having, it was over now. "Sorry, that's probably really random. But I'm really glad I met you."
