Theres a small jazz bar not so far away from Onigiri Miya. Every night at ten pm, just before closing time, Osamu could hear the soft music of piano, drums, saxophones, trumpets, bass, and a pretty voice. He never bothered entering past the doors. It was late and he wanted to go home so, so badly after a long day at work.

Today was a little different, however. The air outside was cooler than usually which led to doors of the jazz bar to be left wide open, letting in the fresh breeze. And like the wind, Osamu cleans up the shop and puts away his apron, subconsciously entering the bar.

He looks around the building format before taking a seat at an empty table. People are talking as the spotlight is on the stage. Osamus fingers tap on the table at the beat, his eyes on the singer; you. The band was performing a cover of ‘Blue Moon’ by American jazz singer Billie Holiday, and you swinging to the song gently. The piano supports your voice well, adding in its own improvised parts now and then.

Osamu wasn’t one to even think about jazz, but this might become a common occurrence if its you who’s singing.
