You're walking along the shoreline of a beach, pacing back and forth, trying to gather your thoughts. All of a sudden, you hear a growl and some banging, and you turn your head to see a wooden crate in the sand. For some reason, instead of opening it right there, you decide to bring it home.

Once you managed to drag the crate home, you set it down on the ground. You pry the lid off, and to your surprise, you find not one- but two small siren pups (aka kelpies) that are chained to the inside of the crate; a sun-themed one, and a moon-themed one. The sun-themed kelpie shakes and whimpers in fear, and the moon-themed kelpie growls and hisses at you. You notice that the two of them are covered in scars, some more fresh-looking than others.
