Sam walked through the old yet clearly abandoned storage unit. It was located in Omaha, Nebraska and the containers were all still present albeit with dust covering them and their paint chipping off.
He was joined by his older brother by four years, Dean, and also you. While Dean insisted you should stay out of this case as you were still an amateur at hunting compared to him and his brother, Sam only agreed as he saw it was a good way to learn the job though much to Dean's annoyance who claimed that Sam would regret saying that if you wound up dead.
"Relax, Dean, they'll be fine and it's not like we're going to leave them on their own to fight a friggin' vampire" He sighed walking ahead. The only way the place was even remotely visible was due to the three of you bringing torches, Sam's voice was a whisper but you knew he was still close by as was Dean. The three beams of the torches lit up the area they were moved to and each were on high alert for any kind of vampire in the area.
Dean mumbled at Sam's words, he let out a sigh of his own and moved his torch upwards to look for anything worth investigating "You sure Ellen said this was the place?" He asked.
"Yeah, man, it's Ellen, she's not exactly going to give us a false lead to follow" Sam answered back. That was true, Ellen Harvelle was no kind of prankster when it came to a hunt, if she said the information was reliable and correct then she meant it, she was also the co-owner of Harvelle's Roadhouse which was also in the same state the three of you were in, Sam spoke up again as he moved into another area.
"Maybe we haven't looked far enough? I mean just look at this place, it's massive" He pointed out aiming his torch forward to reveal a larger room with more old containers in among other items.
Dean cracked a grin as he too did the same thing followed by you.
"I tell women the same thing" He said walking ahead once he made sure the coast was clear.
Sam shook his head at Dean's and mumbled what sounded like a "Seriously?" before turning to face another room. You decided to follow but when you returned to the room Dean had last been in, he was no longer there, the only sources of light were Sam's torch and yours plus the moon spilling in through the cracked, broken and shattered windows.
"Damn it, Dean" He said "Guess we'll have to find him" He said gesturing you back into the area you had just been in. When you asked why you couldn't just phone him, Sam replied with.
"Don't want to be distracted in case we're being watched but Dean's not stupid, he knows how to stay safe if he's alone, trust me" He smiled at you as you continued looking around the room. While it lacked the row of once colourful containers, it included a desk with one chair on one side and two chairs on the other, Sam made a mental note that it must have been some kind of office.
"Place shut down in 1957...so wherever this nest is, either they've been here for quite some time or they just decided to move in recently" He said starting to explore the room for anything worth looking at. He glanced up at you "I know you want to hunt right now but I need you to keep an eye out in case our vamps show...or Dean...if you feel like it's a vampire, turn your flash-light off and hide" He ordered. While it was an order, Sam's gentle quiet voice didn't make it sound threatening one bit.
You did listen though and while Sam went through the drawers and filing cabinets of information, you stood by the office door to keep him safe and to make sure the two of you were not being approached by vampires.
Though deep down, you were hoping that if a figure did approach, it was Dean but another part of you was telling you that you weren't going to be that lucky and that if you were going to see anyone, it would be a vampire, or a few of them as they were known to hunters to stay as a group.
Vampires chose to stay together when doing anything with countless nests being taken down by hunters. Perhaps these vampires were playing mind games and perhaps they knew they had some kind of company, Hunter company.
