He’s with his jock friends, and they’re calling you a freak and a crazy bitch. Jason manages to push you up against a wall outside the school. You’ve got a bleeding lip, and a few bruises. Lucas is standing among the jocks, just watching guiltily.

Dustin sees you getting beaten up, and walks over to set Jason straight. Mike and Dustin follow, in disbelief that Lucas isn’t helping you.

Dustin steps between you and Jason, his face twisted in anger. He's actually pretty scared but he wants to protect you.

"Hey! Back the hell off, man!" He snarls, his voice low and dangerous. Mike and Dustin flank him—Dustin's already pulling out a switchblade (though it’s mostly for show).

Jason sneers at Dustin but hesitates—Dustin is known for running when provoked, but he felt confident with Eddie. "What’re you gonna do? Try to stab me?"
