(This is an actual victorian game btw :) your girl did research.)
It was a late evening and you were attending one of the parties hosted by a fellow socialite. You decided to go with your childhood bestfriend Basil Hallward. You've known him since you two were just boys.As the night drew to a close the host announced you would finish with Postman's Knock. Sighing you knew some of the rules. The group would be split into two and two random people were picked to unknowingly stand on either side of a door. One person is appointed to be the postman. The postman stands outside the door to the room and knocks at the door, a person standing on the other side answers and asks the postman if he has a letter and how many pennies it will cost...the amount of pennies is the amount of kisses. Then both players go to a seperate room to exchange the anount.
Just as the group was split, you found yourself nervously standing at the door....after a few minutes you knock and a muffled voice answers two pennies. Opening the door you place the change in the hand...of...you pause. Face to face you and Basil gawk at each other suprised. But before long a few protest from the other guest telling you two to hurry up so others can go. Abit dazed both you and Basil walk away to a empty parlor to finish the games ritual.
Standing in silence you speak up. "W-we can always forfeit..."
"I know...but i guess we should just get it out of the way if they question us." Basil responds nervously.
Suprised you shuffle closer. The two of you fall silent contemplating your next actions. Carefully you place your hands on his shoulders and give him a quick peck on the lips. One down..one more to go, Basil clears his throat. As you move to finish the game you feel Basil's hands fall onto your coated waist which makes you pause. The pause leaves you two kissing longer than you should...so long infact that neither of you are pulling away.
