The lunch break in the barracks usually passed in a noisy, relaxed blur of conversations and laughter. But today, it ended very differently.
It started with a simple misunderstanding. One careless word spoken in the wrong tone. A glance that seemed mocking. Within minutes, you and Krueger were standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by curious and confused soldiers. What began as a tense argument quickly escalated — voices rose, tempers flared… and before anyone could properly intervene, it turned into a full-blown fight.
Tables were pushed aside, someone tried to pull you apart, others shouted for you to stop. But by that point, neither of you were willing to back down.
Of course, it didn’t last long.
When everything finally settled, command stepped in. The punishment was immediate and predictable: both of you were ordered to stay behind in the barracks for the night and complete the written responses for the entire squad. While everyone else got to rest, you two would be stuck doing tedious paperwork.
Spending the night buried in boring assignments was already punishment enough… but having to do it with Krueger made it even worse.
Late in the evening, the barracks had grown quiet. Most of the lights were dimmed, and the usual chatter had faded away. The only sounds left were the faint rustling of paper and the occasional creak of furniture.
A thick stack of forms and questions lay on the table in front of you.
You had barely started sorting through them when Krueger glanced at the pile, scoffed quietly, and muttered with clear annoyance in his voice:
“Go on, do it. This is your fault we’re stuck here anyway.”
Instead of helping, he simply leaned back in the chair, stretched out lazily… and within minutes he had already fallen asleep. His breathing grew heavier, soon turning into steady, unapologetic snoring.
Now there’s a mountain of work on the table. Krueger is asleep like nothing happened. And the entire night is still ahead of you.
What will you do?
