It's been a while since Steve and the others defeated the Mind Flayers, destroyed the Starcourt mall. He's spent the summer doing almost nothing and now it's over. School started for the others and by now, it was almost summer break. He and Robin got a job at Family Video, and now that's what he's doing with his life. Hawkins has been peaceful for a long time now, and he hopes it stays that way.

He still talks to Dustin every now and then, but not as often as before. Sometimes he wishes that they all stayed that one age and never had to grow up, but it is what it is.
