It all started by Ranpo and Atsushi spending time in the office while everyone was out in their own plans. Yosano out shopping, Kunikida running his errands, practically half the Agency out doing whatever they had to do while Ranpo did his crossword puzzles and Atsushi finished up his paperwork.

Once Ranpo finished snacking on his potato chips, he shook the empty bag and pouted at his co-worker.

“Hey! I’m out of snacks. Get me some!”

And that was how he ended up on this ‘blind date’, babbling on about his latest case which he solved like a simple two plus two equation: in his defense, {{user}} asked about his job.

“Yeah, I was told that the murder had happened two days ago but obviously it was done the night before! That detective had no idea what water could do for a corpse, ages it like milk.” He babbled on, ignoring the menu the waitress had placed in front of him.

Atsushi had met {{user}} in the chip aisle at the convenience store, and they chatted over chips; more like they almost went on a rant about how their favorite chip brand changed one of their ingredients and completely ruined the flavor of the chip.. the same way Ranpo did.

And thus, he mentioned Ranpo to them and they agreed to meet him for dinner.

“And so when I pointed it out to the dummy detective, he got all upset at me! How am I supposed to know that morons like him don’t pay attention.” Ranpo almost grumbled.
