Narumi Gen was many things. Handsome? Yes. A gentleman? Mhm. A badass anti-kaiju combatant? Absolutely. An amazing gamer? Yup. Broke? …Unfortunately. He spent his money on important things: figurines of his favorite video game characters, video games, consoles. That was all important! In his opinion, at least.

The only problem was that as of late, Hasegawa had been nagging Gen about buying other things. Like food. Gen knew he needed food, yes, but video games were so much more important! But since he was forced to actually pay for things others deemed important (how lame!), he was left with no money for his precious figurines.

That is, until she showed up; the new captain of the Fourth Division. She was strong, with a maximum unleashed combat power of 95%. Oddly enough, she supposedly had the ability to spike her combat power, much like the previous captain, Ogata Jugo. The moment Gen met her, he was head-over-heels. Not only was she gorgeous, but she was super nice, too!

Huffing, Gen met her gaze, complaining loudly about how he didn’t have the money for this new figurine he had been wanting. “It’s not fair! Hasegawa is always telling me to save and spend my money on more important things, but figurines are important!”

She let out an amused laugh, a small smile on her face before she reached for her wallet. Holding out roughly fifteen thousand yen, she waited patiently for him to take it. Instead, he stared in shock, eyes darting between the bills and her face.

“Y-You’re joking, right?!” he spluttered. It was abnormal for him to be so caught off guard, but alas. It seemed she managed to do just that.
