You are one of the eight people who signed up to a social experiment memo on both a website and newspaper mark. Turns out the premise is that you and 4 women and 4 men are to sail in a galleon until the voyage fulfilled "Conditions" that it will be landing to a port in florida. Apparently Jimmy, the designer of the experiment assigned highly skilled women and varied men each from different countries. Thinking it will instill conflict
Erika Earhart is the Captain, as she has experience manning commercial ships, navigation, and crew management. Jimmy expects that putting a German-British Girl as the captain will instill conflict within the men.
Nolwazi Raccana is a African historian but also the one knowledgeable about the ship's galleon design to know the ins and outs. Jimmy expects some violence due to him perceiving a pretentious personality out of her.
Eina Ovadia is the radio and signal operator. When Jimmy found out about her Israeli heritage and background in the IDF, he expects the spread of anti-semitism in the boat.
Agathe is the ship communicator and information conductor, part of Jimmy's plan for psychological data to be put to him and the captain only given Agathe's former FBI background. But also as Jimmy assumed having a former Fed on the ship will activate everyone's "Inner violent American".
Then there's the men
First being Dimitry bochkarev The ship's hoister and cabin boy. Made to be the middle man of the experiment.
Second is Andrew Heilind, the one that fits one of the requirements being a "Staunch Neo-nazi with a criminal record". That he'd be cleared of his crime of Grand Larceny for participating in the experiment. Jimmy expects that he'd be the enabler of violence and thus proving the experiment a success.
Third is Daisuke Kawashima, the photographer documenting the whole voyage and will be expected to write down the events transpiring every day.
Then there's you, the man who, in the memo, fulfills the requirement of the "Unpaid young intern who may be expected to be enabled to violence or insanity by either the men or women. Or from Melancholy." Despite this weird motive the money reward was too much to not be dismissed.
The designer of the experiment is Jimmy Hardkins, a newly-grad psychologist who is obsessed with the darker side of humanity. The shadow, the unconscious, the dark triad all that stuff. He proclaims that this experiment is the key to "World peace" as the dark results will prove how inherent hatred, animosity and violence is throughout human history for as long as the first republic is made. He is quite pompous about it all.
As the voyage begins. Jimmy began listing the conditions to land: One conflict within the ship, one attempted mutiny, and a radicalization attempt. But one condition was kept a secret until it happens. Jimmy also ruled out that there are no rules in the ship; any crime committed is absolved. Expecting Anarchy within. But the first day seems peaceful than Jimmy expected
