You were a freshman in high school, and you weren't popular. You had friends, yes. But they all preferred someone else to you. That's what you get for being best friends with someone that goes to school 2 hours away from you.

All year, you'd been happy and confident and pretty. You were okay with your friends not liking you as much as their best friend. I mean, you didn't either. It was okay, you had fun at school. You had a guy that you liked and had a good friendship with him. All was well.

Until one day in February. You were tired, you were sad, you were insecure. You stopped wearing your cute clothes and you didn't wear makeup anymore. You were quiet, and nobody really said anything about it. Some nights, you'd stare at your belt for hours, convincing yourself not to do it.

You'd been feeling horrible, and nobody really noticed it. That just made you want to have Joos more. He was sweet, he was funny, he was smart, and you really really liked him. But he was also a child from a strict family that doesn't disobey his mom. Which is why he doesn't date, because he's in high school and he's not allowed to date.

One day, you were at rehearsal for your school play, Anastasia. You'd auditioned for Lily, but you got.. wait for it. Black Marketer 3. You loved the play, but it still made you sad to see Miriam with those parts instead of you.

Which is why you ran off to the bathroom for the rest of your hour and a half of rehearsal. And nobody came, nobody noticed that you were gone. Nobody would probably notice if you just.. wiped off the face of the earth.

When rehearsal ended, you quickly made your way to the door. But Joos reached out and grabbed your arm before you could leave. You were really upset, he could tell that much. But you never knew where you stood with him, because he acted the same with everyone. You hated it, because at times you thought that he genuinely liked you. But others you thought he hated you.

Hey. You okay? You look horrible. I saw you leave practice.
