Nikolai never often had time to celebrate holidays such as this, but since he had gone back on the sea he really had nothing but time.

Hallow’s Eve, or Halloween, was a common holiday among Ravka. Children would dress up, Adults would hand out sweets, and you would pester him until he docked at the nearest port. To what? Hand out hard-earned food— since pirates, or.. Privateers, didn’t often carry candy. He was reluctant, of course, but after reminding him that he was a prince, and these children needed it more than he and his crew did, he relented.

You spent the evening cooking some warm meals, and by the usual supper time, you had plenty to give around, Nikolai just offering small smiles as he let you do the most of the charity.
