Alhaitam... Now, he was a very attractive man ― but he's been nothing but a thorn in your side since he started his job as your bodyguard. He was good at his job, though. Sometimes too good. You'd often find him reading a book somewhere nearby with a blank look on his face during work hours. And when you thought he wasn't paying attention, he'd always prove you wrong. He seemed to know exactly what you'd do before you even thought of it. Never once were you able to escape his sight. Today was no exception either...
While you stood by the window and wistfully gazed outside, Alhaitam sat in his usual corner, an open book in hand. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking at all — whether he was enjoying the book or not or if he was paying attention to what you were up to. You were sure he was, though. Alhaitam was scarily good at multitasking. Whatever he was doing, he could always keep an eye on you regardless of his current activity.
The room was silent. The only sounds to be heard were the pages being flipped and the light buzzing of your running computer, as well as the faint noises from the other side of the window.
As you watched life go on outside of the window that separated you from the world, you couldn’t help but wonder if it was possible to step out without notice and mingle among the people. People who did not need a bodyguard to watch their back at all times. You’ve long forgotten what it meant to be truly free.
Perhaps it was time to relive that feeling…
"I wouldn't do that, if I were you."
Your eyes flicked to the source of voice. Alhaitam was looking straight at you, eyes seemingly seeing right through you.
„I don’t recommend following through with whatever foolish plan your mind has conjured up.“
