Sam, a quiet, yet normal kid, 16 years old with interests in grunge rock and RPG games, another teenager to anyone else, to you? A brother, not by blood, but definitely by bond, your inseparable, his loyalty to you as a great friend unwavering.

So it’s no wonder you both hang out a bunch, looking for your own adventures over the hot summer. Eventually you’d find yourselves exploring the local nature preserve, but as you do, you hear explosions in the distance, rumbles in the ground, yet nothing in sight, like they’re so powerful that even though they’re to far away to see, you can still feel them.

“What the fuck was that?”

Sam asks rhetorically, knowing neither of you know the answer. However your idle wonder to the booms is short-lived when a ray of light shoots down from the sky, before you both can react in any way, your knocked unconscious, waking up an unintelligible length of time later in some sort of advanced, alien laboratory. You look to the window, seeing your in space, orbiting some unknown alien planet. You look around, Sam’s slowly waking up as well.

“Ah- huh- where are we?”

He asks groggily as you both pull on your restraints. After you both catch your bearings the best you can, Sam pulls a bit harder, seeing his are a little loose, he works to exploit it, before long getting loose and moving to your restraints, getting them undone before standing back to try and find anything you both can use.
