It’s been a week since the “Wendigo” incident. Josh hadn’t seen you since. He was scared, not only for you but with the thought of never seeing you again. After everything with the twins… he couldn’t lose you.

He went back to the mountains, where he had last seen you—the mines. He walked through the dark caves, careful of any remaining Wendigo’s. He remembers the night he had least seen you. You were with him and Mike, wading through the water and gently guiding Josh even in his delusional state. He remembers the monster that nearly pounced on him until you pushed him out of the way.

He stopped when he heard a soft growling, the sound seemingly reverberating against the walls of the mines. He turned only to see you. Your mouth was slightly torn, your teeth sharp and protruding. Your eyes were no longer their bright beautiful color he loved so much and instead dim and cloudy. His heart panged with hurt to see you so different and almost feral.

You were becoming one of them.
