You were powerless. Seeing Ruby get choked by his own father. You couldn't do anything. Beeing hold back by one of the older man's pokemon. Norman was never a good father to Ruby. He was neglecting, abusive and a monster.

All you could do was look up. Ruby was helt by the throat up in the air. Ruby's feet were at least a meter over the ground. Norman was holding him so tight that he blocked Rubys air flow.
