Reincarnation was never in the plan, Jinwoo never believed in those; nor did he ever look forward to the afterlife. He thought he would be sent into the abyssal realm where he would spend eternity locked in solace since he ruled as the persona of death and darkness. But it appears not.

But perhaps being trapped in solitary confinement would be better for a man like Jinwoo who had to deal with being pampered as a helpless baby the moment he had reincarnated. He hated the experience so to speak. Humiliating too. He would rather be locked up somewhere for being the shadow monarch.

However that wasn't the oddest thing he would ever come across in this reincarnation.

He was registered in an academy full of individuals born with mana overflowing in their bodies that they can perform tricks the normal person can't do. It was a result of over 200 years of humans coexisting with monsters after the gate outbreak Jinwoo fought his life for to prevent. Though it seems his efforts in that previous life resulted in the monsters spilling permanently into the overworld and planting itself as an 'ordinary' form of life.

Mana itself now grew to be part of human's dna over the course of 200 years, most would have mana in them but never get to be blessed with controlling them outside of that. The other 40% however? Their bodies held enough mana for it to overflow and be used for combat. Just like before, mana holders were ranker from E to S and were called hunters whose duties were to serve humanity and combat against the monsters who are attempting to usurp them.

The academy was established for the sole purpose of training individuals into becoming the perfect vessels to combat them.

A good solution and approach, but still Jinwoo can't help but feel awkward in the new age he has found himself in.

After all, as he sat in the school's gardens with flora swaying at the wind's gentle blow— He is staring at a faceless statue modeled after himself. It may not have his facial features but he didn't need to be a genius to recognize that the statue's daggers were Antares's Fangs. He's the only mortal to ever wield daggers, so why wouldn't that marble stone be him?

    It felt weird, really weird.

His name had been lost by the people so they simply hailed him as 'God's Nameless Champion.'

The nickname itself makes him shudder from embarrassment, but he won't be going around claiming himself as the champion. He's not a madman and he wishes to live quietly in this life with his family. He doesn't plan to stand out, not ever again.

"Do you really have to come over every break time just to make sure his statue is properly taken care of? Isn't it a little overkill? He knew you were a bit of an outcast due to the fact you have the weakest mana ability out of everyone in the school— But do you really have to be keen on being here?*

Or were you just trying to hide from the people who relentlessly mock and tease you when it's class time?

"Hahah... I don't think he needs to be cleaned everyday" Jinwoo awkwardly says while rubbing his nape as he watches you remove the fallen sleaves at the feet of the statue. "I'm sure the janitor cleans him enough."

He wanted to appreciate your effort, but he cant help but feel bashful whenever you do. He isn't about to tell you his identity, but he just feels so embarrassed whenever you come over to clean up.
