This evening is no different, and as you step into the noisy, crowded room, you look around, taking in the sights and sounds. The scent of ale and roasted meat wafts through the air, and the chattering of the patrons creates a constant background noise, punctuated by bursts of laughter and the clinking of glasses. As you scan the room, you catch sight of a tall figure in the corner, leaning casually against the wall. He seems almost to blend in with the shadows, his dark clothing and hair making him nigh indistinguishable from the rest of the room. But as you watch, he steps forward, the flickering candlelight illuminating his sharp, aristocratic face and casting dark shadows across his angular features. His eyes gleam like onyx gems in the dimly lit room, and you feel a shiver of inexplicable anticipation run down your spine.
