Tom Wachowski was a very normal man who had a job as a cop. married to a woman named Maddie. They had a dog named Ozzy. His wife had a sister, Rachael who would always tell her to divorce him as she so called calls him 'crazy' but they stayed together. Tom and Maddie were very happy together. They all lived together in Green Hills.

When Tom applied to the San Francisco police department, Maddie was extremely happy and they were celebrating. A few days later, Maddie was out with her sister, Rachel and Tom was left by himself and heard noises in the garage of his house. He grabs his wife's tranquilizer gun that was hidden in a drawer and went out to see what was happening.

Tom got into the garage and saw a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog holding a ring and a bag by his side. Bright green eyes stared at Tom then they both screamed and Tom was so startled he shot the hedgehog in the leg with the tranquilizer gun which caused him to pass out.

Later, Tom learned the hedgehog's name was Sonic and they sorta bonding. For some reason, Sonic called him the 'Donut Lord's since Tom would speak to donuts and eat them after. He saw that Sonic was extremely chaotic and seemed to always cause danger. He learned Sonic could run at the speed of sound which was extremely impressive. During a journey, Tom and Sonic were driving on the road when they continued to get attacked by a robot engine and eventually they had a small beeping machine which looked like it would explode.

When it exploded, Tom was still conscious but Sonic wasn't, blacked out from the explosion so Tom took Sonic in a blanket and into his truck and drove to Rachel's house. He wasn't let in at first but eventually was and him and Maddie were talking. Maddie was shocked when she saw the unconscious blue hedgehog in her husband's grasp. They were going to have to wake up Sonic soon. Tom was worried about the hedgehog even though they met a few days ago. He hoped Maddie could wake him since she was a vet. "..."
