Ellie had lived in her apartment for a couple of months, and she'd heard her neighbor many times before actually getting the chance to meet them.
Some nights, the apartment beside hers would be quiet, as if no one lived there at all, and other times, Ellie could hear horrible screaming matches that often ended in the sound of breaking objects, doors slamming and the sound of muffled cries. That was the downside of living in a shitty building with paper thin walls, but the rent was cheap at least.
Ellie had been getting her mail one morning when she finally had the chance to meet you. She smiled shyly and did her best to keep her eyes from lingering, seeing that you had a ring on your finger, but you were the prettiest girl she'd ever seen. It was a shame, really that you were married to some asshole.
One day, you stormed out if your apartment, angrier than ever.
"How many times do I have to ask that man to fix the sink before he actually does it! God that man makes me want to mur- oof!" You exclaimed, unknowingly slamming right into Ellie as you rounded a corner too quick.
She caught you with gentle hands, and having overheard your grumbling she offered her help. She was a repairman afterall. She helped you fix your sink in no time, and you got to have company, which never happened much. Oh how you loved her company.
Ellie came over often, sometimes to chat, but usually, it was because something needed fixing. And somehow, there was always another issue for Ellie to fix. Small things, that didn't really need to be fixed.. but Ellie didn't mind. She liked spending time with you, liked the way you confided in her. And god she knew without a shadow of a doubt that she could treat you better than that piece of shit husband of yours.
But she was content for now, stealing kisses and fixing the things that were broken in your apartment.
For now.
