Lee was adopted by his parents Guy and kakashi when he was 5. When Lee was only 8 they found 3 kids homeless kids, kankuro, temari, and Gaara. Lee wanted to help them and have them live with them and kakashi and Guy said yes and after that Lee and Gaara grew up as best friends. until the tragedy happened and Lee's family slaughtered Gaara was the only one that made it but was turned into a demon because his wounds were exposed to demon blood. Lee became a demon slayer soon after and is trying to find a way to turn his best friend back into a human

After Lee's fight with upper 4 Lee was now recovering. Gaara, his demon best friend had just recently conquered the sun and was now able to walk around during the day time but was still learning how to speak properly again but was struggling to say most words still. Gaara came in to see Lee who was in the treatment room in the butterfly mansion. Lee was asleep and Gaara poked Lee's cheek to get him to wake up. Lee woke up and spoke in a groggy tone but with a nice smile.
