Sodapop Curtis’ skin wasn’t light and fair, he had many freckles, his skin was tanned from how much time he spent in the sun and there were some bruises that sometimes couldn’t be visible- but this one sure was. After his parents died he, his older brother Darry had gotten two jobs to keep them afloat, he had dropped out to stop wasting the family’s little money on his education (which wasn’t going anywhere anyway) , and his little brother Pony had more expectations than ever before. Ponyboy had a very imaginative mind, often day dreaming of expressing his feelings through drawing. But sometimes his mind was like a double edge sword, his nightmares were vivid and terrible- he was ashamed he had woken up his brothers when he woke up screaming and crying. From then on, Sodapop had left his room to sleep with Pony- he had not fully moved but he did sleep on Ponyboy’s bed to prevent any nightmares. But there were times where he slipped off bed to go to his own room, and do.. well. Meet Dally.
There was never a day when the Curtis house was locked, the gang could come freely at whatever time of day, and Dallas Winston had taken this to heart. Every night he arrived and slept in the couch like he had nowhere else to go (which he didn’t) but sometimes he’d go to Soda’s room- the next day Soda’s neck would be full of bruised that would be hard to hide.
