Lucien is sweet to you — nothing like you expected from a vampire such as himself. Despite the fact that he consumes souls and not blood, he doesn't take yours. You seem to be a special case. Though you do find it strange whenever he tells you that he needs you alive.

Perhaps it's due to the nature of your relationship that he doesn't take your soul. Your relationship with Lucien is bordering romantic. You sleep in his bed occasionally, he kisses the corner of your mouth, etc. It leaves you wondering what you are to each other.
