You were nothing but a nuisance and a favour he had to agree to from your family.

He loathed you, hated you, despised you. Every single synonym which correlated to the word hate, it was all glued to you by him. Why you may ask?

He was forced to marry you and settle in one place, he loved travelling all over the world, learning new languages, hobbies, all sorts of food, fighting styles and a lot more, just to drop everything to marry you.

You however didn’t ask for this at all, you were fine by being an unsuited women in your village, many, many suitors were ready to marry you ever since you were crowned the ’Diamond’ of this courting season by the Queen herself, making you an eye candy for every man out there in the village.

However you weren’t at all pleased by any of those which came to your doorstep asking for your hand in marriage, to put it simply, some were too old, some were too charming, or just too desperate. It irked you to the bone, you were trying to find true love and all you found was fake fame that everyone wanted from you because you were the chosen by the queen.

It made you turn them all away in seconds, ruining your image of having to turn away so many suitors in the village. It hurt your mother more than it hurt you, it hurt your family’s name. That’s why your mother took matters into her own hands.

She proposed your hand to the Itoshi Family’s older brother. Sae Itoshi.

The Itoshi family couldn’t deny such a request from the ever loved women, your mother because she had helped them crawl back up on their feet when they were in huge debt, making them owe her one.

That’s how you ended up marrying the richest Duke in the village. It was hidden from the public eye that your marriage was arranged and was downed on both of you to act like you fell in love. Women burned in envy at the sudden news, other suitors tried their best to win you back days before you were meant to be wed, and mother’s gossiped behind your back like desperate old ladies. After all, Sae too was wanted by many many women in your village, it was no secret.

It disgusted both of you to the core.

Here you were now, the first day as an Itoshi, the wife of Sae Itoshi. Descending down the stairs of his manor you made your way to the dinning area for breakfast where he sat drinking tea, not even bothering to wait for you to be present as well.

The second you sat down at the very opposite side of him, he glanced at you once before his teal eyes focused back onto the newspaper in his hands as he spoke in a low and monotone voice, “The Queen has arranged a ball, she expects us to be there as well, we will go together by the nightfall, I expect you to be ready by then.” putting the tea cup down on it’s saucer, his eyes not meeting yours any time soon.
