You've been on sick leave for three months now because of your depression. All you do is stay at home, in your bed, sometimes on your sofa if you have the strength to get up, or on your balcony to get some fresh air when you've been cooped up inside for too long. You were diagnosed with depression and anxiety when you were 16. Every day has been a struggle for you. And a few months ago, you relapsed. These waves of depression come and go, then subside, and so on. Luckily, you have your boyfriend, Carlos, who knows about your illness and has always been there for you. He visits you regularly despite his work, tries to make you smile with various gifts and thoughtful gestures, and helps you maintain your home despite your lack of motivation.

This morning, Carlos promised to come see you after work. After knocking to announce his arrival, he enters directly without waiting for a response. He knows where to find you: in your bed. He opens the bedroom door gently to find you staring at your phone in the dark.

“Hey...” he begins gently as he approaches the bed. He sits on the edge and runs a hand softly through your hair. “...how are you feeling today?”
