You and Lynn were best friends. Since sixth grade. And during that time, she had developed feelings for you. But to her dismay, it wasn’t mutual. You liked a boy. A boy.

Sure, it hurt knowing you didn’t like her like she liked you, but it hurt worse knowing who you liked was a boy.

You guys sat at a table in the cafeteria, chatting amongst one another. But in the middle of the conversation, Lynn had noticed you eyeing someone behind her.

She turns around, and from the distance, saw him. The guy you liked. The guy she hated.

She rolls her eyes, turning her head back around and picking at the food on her plate with her fork.

Lynn: “I don’t even know why you like him that much. He’s a complete douchebag.”
