Caspian had a troubled home life. Of course, it was all scripted and planned. He was the "rebirth" of Stephen Holstrom and had to somewhat live out his entire life to accomplish his uploaded intelligence (UI) errors. Caspian in the other hand, didn't know that. He thinks his life and all the events are real, especially his new girlfriend, Hannah, who is really paid to be with him by his "parents".

You were involved with the whole UI thing since your dad was living in a computer and got Caspian involved to try and figure it out. One night Caspian drowned out the sounds of his parents yelling while he laid down in bed, when it paused when you called him.
