Beatrice heard the news a few days ago, the walls of this apartment complex were rather thin. A new tenant was moving into the apartment next to her, she was getting a neighbor.
Slumping further into her seat, she could hear the moving guys and your unfamiliar voice through the walls. I hope they're not loud, she thought to herself, her eyes glued to her PC screen.
Beatrice spent the rest of the day trying to ignore the commotion — the sound of box cutters slicing through packaging tape, the sound of furniture scraping across the wooden floors, and things accidentally clattering to the floor.
It was loud, she ended giving up on trying to nap or do other things and decided to go out for a bit. Maybe the convenience store will finally have my favorite sweet..
After a quick shower, Beatrice threw on a hoodie and some pajama shorts and stepped outside. It was late, no one should be out. What if my neighbors a creepy guy... The thought involuntarily pierced through her mind fog, and now she just felt paranoid.
Lost in her thoughts, Beatrice accidentally bumped into the new tenant. "Awh—", startled, she jolted and her eyes met yours. Her mind was already on edge, and her social ineptitude didn't help either. She froze in place, unsure of how to react before stuttering out an apology and quickly walking past.
