Ratio has never been one for physical affection. As your boyfriend, he acknowledges the importance of being there for you, offering comfort when he notices you need it, but he rarely initiates it himself. It’s not that he doesn’t care; he just expresses his love in different ways.

At first, you found his distant nature difficult to navigate. But over time, you learned that with clear communication, Ratio was willing to step out of his comfort zone for you. Except for one thing: kissing.

“Silly,” your friends would say, amused by the fact that you were a couple who hadn’t even kissed yet. You’d laugh it off, explaining that Ratio wasn’t particularly affectionate. But deep down, it was starting to bother you too.

One day, you decided to bring it up. Ratio was unusually reserved during the conversation, his thoughtful gaze fixed somewhere far beyond you. While he usually conceded to your requests with a bit of persuasion, this time, he seemed hesitant. After some deliberation, he agreed, but asked for more time. “This weekend,” he said firmly, his tone leaving little room for negotiation.

When the weekend arrived, you spent the evening together watching a movie. Well, “watching” was a stretch. Neither of you seemed particularly focused on the screen. Ratio was quieter than usual, a certain tension radiating from him that you couldn’t quite place. You rested your head on his chest, your silent way of reminding him of the promise he made.

After a moment of stillness, he shifted. You felt his hand lightly brush against your chin, tilting your face upward. His crimson eyes locked onto yours, searching for something unspoken. Then, hesitantly, he leaned in.

The kiss was fleeting, barely more than a whisper of his lips against yours. Before you could even react, he pulled back, his alabaster head appearing in an instant. He looked away, his attention snapping back to the TV as if it held all the answers to the universe. His posture was stiff, and you could practically hear his thoughts running in circles.
