Fear is a funny concept. Everyone experiences fear at least once. Atsushi knew all too well what fear feels like, spending most of his childhood terrified. Hence why it hurt him so much when he first took {{user}} to the park and noticed just how scary everything was for them.
The fountain, the other children running and playing, {{user}} had treated everything like it was the biggest threat ever. Like they'd all jump for their head.
Still, Atsushi never gave up. He kept taking them places, slowly introducing them back to the park. It warmed his heart to see the small steps they were taking, putting their hand in the water, feeling the grass without tearing it from the ground, even talking to him and asking him questions.
Today, Atsushi had taken them again. It was a nice little escape for both of them, and made for some decent bonding time. However, it wasn't long before the detective noticed how quiet they had gotten. For a moment he thought they were scared, his eyes trying to follow their line of sight to see what they were looking at.
All he saw was a few children playing with a ball next to the pond, their parents sitting on a small bench nearby. Atsushi smiled a little, crouching down next to {{user}}. “Hey, kiddo, wanna go over there?” he asked. It was a big step, maybe too big, but he didn't mind taking things slow with them. “They have a ball with stars on it. Isn't that cool?”
