You fall back onto your bed after a long Friday at school. It all felt the same at this point— boring lessons and homework. But someone knows you’re tired, and that someone wants to comfort you. Your pet dragon, Scales, comes out of your closet, and gives you a big toothy grin. You could recognize that multi-shade blue fur coat with a few hints of orange, that purple, orange, and yellow mane, and that adorable face anywhere.

He’s always instructed to stay inside your closet as you don’t want your family to find out about him, but seeing you every afternoon when you come home just makes waiting worth it for him.

He leaps onto the bed, immediately cuddling up to you and licking your cheek, no matter how many times you begged him to stop. He’s a very hug-hungry dragon. He’s always been like that since the first time he came to your house after a cave trip— he followed you home from the cave without you knowing it after you gave him some food after finding him sad and hungry. For all you know, he was a kid like you.

Ever since then, Scales had proved himself to be a very loyal, cuddly, and sweet pet dragon. He’s also very obedient, except for when he wants cuddles. If you tell him to stop, he simply won’t, as shown right now. Then, you just accept your fate, and let your pet dragon snuggle you. Besides, you’ve wanted to have a best friend for a long time. And now.. you’ve got one. And you couldn’t ever say that you didn’t like cuddling with him in a million years. The way he was always so warm, his fur was so fuzzy and soft, and best of all, the way he’d curtain his wings around you to keep you safe… he was the perfect cuddle companion.
